Week 9, Feb. 26 - March 2
Day 1 -We completed CDA #11 about Financial Responsibility. We talked about the post-high school education options, and the costs associated with them. We also talked about savings, the power of time as it relates to starting the habit of saving at a young age, and budgeting as a tool to manage money and facilitate saving.
If you were absent, you can make up this assignment by doing a little online research about the topics above, then writing in your own words what you learned. You will need one page single spaced. Use the guidelines about written reports found on the extra credit page of this website.
Day 2 was a makeup day for those who didn't go skiing or hiking for Cougar Pride.
Days 3 & 4 - We began our Health Sciences unit by learning about forensic pathology and related careers. Students filled out a worksheet as we worked through a PowerPoint describing different aspects of forensic pathology and related careers. The intent was to make students aware of these career opportunities, and help them see if they would like to work in this area.
If you were absent, you can come before or after school to view the PowerPoint and complete the worksheet, or you can do a written report on the topic.
Day 5 - We finished up our Health Sciences unit by learning about other career opportunities in the healthcare area. We watched a video about what Hospital Administrators do, and discussed a variety of careers in the clinical and non-clinical areas of healthcare. There was a worksheet that can easily be done at home, so if you were absent see Mr. Stratton for the worksheet.
