Week 6, April 16 - 20
April 16 - This was the last day for students to complete the tasks assigned for the use of their laparoscopic instruments. The Engineering Journal was also due.
April 17 - We began our next unit, Transportation/Flight, by watching a video, then discussing the basics of flight.
April 18 - Mrs. Nielson taught our class CDA #15, about 1, 2, 4 or More - A Smart Investment. Among other things students were taught how to prepare for a post-secondary education.
April 19 - We watched a video about how the Wright Brothers approached the problem of flight. It was pointed out to students that they would be faced with the very same problem as they were going to build an airplane, then make it fly for 12 seconds or more. We discussed some of the unique methods the Wright Brothers used to help them succeed in designing, building, and flying a successful heavier than air aircraft.
April 20 - After a few preliminaries, airplane kits were handed out, we inventoried the items in the kit, then we began construction of the airplane.
